Antwerp, 19 August 2026 – Peppol.now is media partner of the Finance Flow Conference Belgium, the conference Heliview is holding on 20 October 2026 at the Van der Valk Business Center in Antwerp. This sixth edition deliberately looks past the invoice itself: e-invoicing is the starting point, and the programme asks what becomes possible after it.

Why the Finance Flow Conference Belgium covers more than invoices this year

The event succeeds the E-Invoicing Conference, and the rename came with a wider scope. Where earlier editions concentrated on the run-up to the Belgian e-invoicing mandate, the agenda now spans the full financial chain: purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash, ERP integration, data quality, AI and hyperautomation, e-reporting, and the alignment between finance and procurement.

That shift follows what is happening in practice. Since 1 January 2026, Belgian companies have been required to exchange structured electronic invoices over the Peppol network in a 4-corner model. The obligation is settled; the open question is what organisations do with the data now arriving in structured form.

From mandate to mass adoption

Wouter Bollaert, Advisor-General at the FPS Finance, leads a parallel session titled “E-facturatie in stroomversnelling: van mandaat naar massale adoptie”. It covers the adoption figures the Belgian government records, which rose from 18 percent in July 2025 to 87 percent in April 2026, along with Belgium’s e-reporting ambition for 2028.

Brent Wagemans, CFO at Houben N.V., addresses the role of data quality in e-invoicing. His argument is that being compliant does not automatically produce more efficient financial processes: differences between XML files, missing fields and duplicate invoices persist as long as the source data is not in order. Christophe De Backer (CFO, DaJobs) and Nadine Aerts (CFO, Port of Antwerp-Bruges) cover finance transformation and the C-level mindset respectively. Journalist Francesca Vanthielen chairs the day for the sixth consecutive year.

Peppol Café and Legal Café

Two sessions use a café format with room for questions from the floor. In the Peppol Café, Serge Libert, eGOV project manager at the FPS Policy and Support (BOSA), works through how Peppol operates, validation and data quality, and integration with ERP and AP processes. The Legal Café is led by Lode van Dessel, senior attorney at Eubelius, and covers ViDA, the state of e-reporting in Belgium, and the tax and legal developments that follow from it.

For background on how the Belgian mandate has played out so far, our analysis of the Belgium e-invoicing mandate after six months covers the themes that return on the conference agenda.

Who the conference is for

The programme targets finance, AP and AR leads, controllers, CFOs, procurement and compliance professionals inside end-user organisations. For that group attendance is free of charge: the end-user ticket includes a personally composed programme, catering, a certificate of attendance and three fifteen-minute matchmaking conversations. Suppliers, consultants and commercial roles fall outside that definition and pay a separate rate, or take part through a partnership.

The full programme is online, with themes and speakers per session. Registration runs directly through Heliview. The conference runs from 09:00 to 17:00 and closes with a networking reception.

About Peppol.now and Heliview

Peppol.now is an independent platform where organisations compare Peppol service providers on price, functionality and certification, supported by a knowledge base and an editorial desk covering e-invoicing across Europe. The platform receives listing fees from providers but no per-lead commissions, so it has no stake in which provider a visitor selects. Anyone weighing up a connection can use the comparison tool to filter the market against their own criteria.

Heliview Conferences & Training, based in Breda, organises B2B conferences for sectors including finance, IT and industry, among them the Dutch and Belgian editions of the Finance Flow Conference. As media partner of the Finance Flow Conference Belgium, Peppol.now provides editorial coverage of the programme and its themes in the run-up to 20 October.
